recent bakings of mine (:

haha i absolutely paiseh-ed myself on monday. the entire jc1 cohort (okay 99%) arrived in school with their smart-looking SA uni & i was the only green frog shining among them. how dumb.

managed to make a trip down to yinghui's house yesterday afternoon to get my skirts altered, so i finally had my uniform on today! sis tied the tie for me initially but it was too short so i had to seek help from the gang early in the morning. im just cant seem to tie it well, damn!

its lecture week & they're like repeating the entire introductory process once again. these boring things made me end up napping, and i skipped chem for goodness sake. faris smsed me to praise me of my smart move cos it was another introduction once again, haha!

my stomach was seriously growling throughout econs lecture so i had mixed vegetable rice for lunch today. its famous for being HUGE in portions & cheap in prices; a super good deal!

battered chicken cutlet (today is fried-food day!), beansprouts & tofu at only $2

im glad i was able to make grace eat as well, and she thanked me for that.

Saturday 17th March
-dinner with xinya!

an early day cos we had to send daddy to the airport at 6.30am to catch a 8am flight. but the lame thing was, after rushing & finally dropping him off, he called to say he saw the wrong time. and so he ate some putu mayam at the food court and had to stone around for 2 hours.

dropped by hougang ave 1 for breakfast. i cant believe how i managed to comsume a large peanut mee chang kueh & 4 chwee kuehs at 7am in the morning! a damn power breakfast.

dinner was with darling xinya! (the most looked-forward thing) i sure missed her. met at marina square and ate at the Ministry of Food;

the macha imo we shared was unforgettable- hokkaido milk softserve with fried japan sweet potatoes & red bean paste. so luxuriously milky that we slurped everything up (:

lovely after-dinner dessert session at andersen's cafe..

i love this mate lots!

Sunday 18th March
-mini singapore tour

what an unexpected thing i did. sis had to host this china foreign exchange student from xiamen and dragged me along to break the silence.

initially i imagined a super-cheena looking & behaving girl but things turned out differently. picked her up at 8am from riverview hotel and found out that she looks just like a singaporean! haha, and the good thing is that she is super chatty so she did most of the initiating.

planned to take her to try a variety of local food within the day.

First stop: Little India

i swear this is the first time i walked through the entire little india so thoroughly! we spent a few fricking hours there but it was quite a good experience.

stopped by this place to have a traditional south-indian breakfast.

pretty average thosais & atrocious pratas BUT the appams were delicious!

having their refreshing coconut juice.

she managed to get a couple of singapore souvenirs & t-shirts from Mustafa. good buys.

Second Stop: Killiney Road
brought her to the original Killiney Kopitiam since kaya is one of the must-trys.

she was fascinated by the 2 eggs we each had, claiming that 2 eggs is alot. LOL. but the kaya toast and french toast were up to expectations.

Third Stop: Plaza Singapura
took her for some shopping and i ended up buying quite a few things as well =p she said she loves cheesecakes, so we took her to secret recipe for some quality ones.

their 2 signature cakes.

me & my sis (:

Fourth Stop: Bugis Junction & National Library
The main thing was bugis street but she didnt manage to get anything. NLB was just an extra destination, haha.

Fifth Stop: Maxwell Food Centre
i planned to go there for Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice but they were sold out by the time we reached! arrgh, so we had no choice but to go for some dumb scissor curry rice stall.

fish fillet in sweet & sour sauce (nice!), braised taupok & eggtofu+cauliflower for me. im like having chap chye rice super frequently these days uh.

she didnt seem too happy with dinner cause apparently she only ate half the rice. the food wasn't wowing but still edible i felt, but sis & i cleared our plates.

re-routed back to PS cos she wanted to get a tee and a notebook before sending her back to her hotel. was a rather sad scene when we parted cos apparently she got rather attached to us. we're such nice souls! LOL.

yupp and so it was a packed day but really well-spent. it was a wonderful experience getting to tour little india and knowing a new friend. no regrets about going (:

crap its 12am now. i'm super tired so shall go sleep now. its another boring day of lectures tmr for me, yawn yawn.
