made a trip to Tampines IKEA with dear today.

seriously crowded.

and we actually managed to get a table at the cafe before the queue even started! should we say we're really lucky to avoid that frickin long queue? but the queue at the food area was avoidable. then i noticed there were cute handy trolleys able to stand 3 trays of food, so poor dear had to go get a pushie-trolley for the fun of it (:

got our food, then it was another long wait at the checkout counter. returned to our seats and there was like these 2 auntys occupying 2 seats of our 4-seater. they are like damn pro, just automatic sit down without even asking de.anyways,here's the food;

Poached Salmon ($6.50)

Seafood Spaghetti ($4.95)

Kid's Swedish Meatballs ($2.90)

just a small portion for him cos i cant take beef.

Chicken Wings ($2.60)

Kid's Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce ($2.90)

now you know why we needed a trolley. haha!

i have always enjoyed dining at IKEA cafe cos the food is simply cheap and generally yummy! They serve local breakfast and vegetarian meals as well, plus there's like halal nasi padang @ the tampines branch.

find out more;

shopping around made me realised that there were sooo many things i wanted to have in my room =p but being cash-strapped meant that i could only buy them with my parents around. but i still got a petite lil oven-safe glass cup to bake little desserts or mousse.affordably priced at just $1.50 (:

the new self pickup area, with stuffs 4 levels high!

Final stop was "re-fuelling" again, this time at the bistro. definitely my idea. LOL.

once again, crowded with a looooong queue.

The most value-for-money $1 hotdog~!!

The bun was lightly toasted, nicely warm and is well-partnered with the tasty grease-free chicken sausage. find it seriously worth it!

Soft ice-cream ($1.20)

Tastes totally different from Mac's or KFC's. This is richer in vanilla taste, and very much smoother but just less thick than Mac's. The cone was good as well, which makes the whole combi super shiok.

Curry Puff ($0.80)

took this away for mummy to try, since she's in love with all sorts of curry puffs.

left after that, dear went to school and i took 27 back to hougang mall. bought some baking supplies, and came back to bake some walnut muffins. pics some other time!

Sunday 3rd December
-wonderful dinner with xinya

meeting place was cityhall, and then we walked down to New York New York.

nice atmosphere, good service. okayy but the service was a little over-friendly that it turned out to be a bit scary. everyone must be longing for some GEMS cards =p

the two of us decided to share 2 mains..

Chicken Roast Sandwich ($6.90)

This was pretty good & cheap, with 2 huge well-toasted sandwiches. It was tasty with the sauteed mushrooms and onions but a pity the chicken itself was too tough and bland. but overall, i still liked it (:

Baked Mushroom Rice with Roasted Vegetables ($9.90)

The portion is seriously insufficient, but with a thick layer of cheese. Rice was lightly seasoned but too dry with totally no sauce at all.

after our meal, we had our serving of complimentary d-i-y cotton candy! apple flavoured. got some passerby to take a pic for us outside the restaurant but it turned out badly blur. arrgh.

exploring Toys R' Us @ suntec was fun (: with all those kiddy props available for us to take childish photos, but the staffs saw us and we decided to stop. haha, so damn paiseh =x

feel the christmas spirit?

we seriously have no idea who these tall weirdys are. bleahs!

the day is never completed without a sinnful indulge, and so we headed down to n.y.d.c to satisfy those cravings.

My apple crumble ($4.95)

one word; fantabulous. its just so good being served warmed and crumbly. loving it (:

xin's huge slab of N.B.B (Newer Better Brownie, $3,95)

Also warmed up, drizzled with chocolate sauce and then topped with m&ms and chopped peanuts.

"the two little kids then cheated themselves that they were on an excursion trip although they were just on a shuttle bus taking them back to cityhall mrt. the end."

*yawns, done with blogging so now back to watch my fullhouse (:

oh yes, i found a job~!!!
