omg its like 2.30am now but im still so hyped up and eager to do some decent blogging; all thanks to the krispy kreme boost!

my day turned out to be so wonderful for once (:

firstly, lunch with sarah. we abandoned our famous adam road selera rasa nasi lemak and headed to taka food hall for MR SUSHI.

it had been something i really wanted to try, and it sure did not disappoint. i'd say its hearty quality japanese food at very reasonable prices.

My Saba Set;

For just $6.50, i get a thick and nicely-grilled slab of saba fish. Other than the bones, i had nothing else to complain about. The seafood miso soup, was especially well done and wasnt like any other miso soups found elsewhere. heartily prepared, the soup was just of the right saltyness, and filled with bits of prawns, salmon, fish, carrots, white carrots and some sort of jap jelly.

Sarah's Salmon Teriyaki Set;

$9.90, but the salmon was really thick and fresh. Thumbs up! (:

The boss and chef here are both Japanese, thus ensuring all customers with the authentic jap cuisine. Service was also commendable, and everyone gets a free cup of green tea. The only problem is that there are only about 10 seats available.

secondly, i went down to hand in my application form and im currently awaiting a call from the manager. *prays hard that i can get the job.

thirdly, dinner with dear. Met him after his project's final judging and finally had a chance to spend some time with him. haha and guess wat? dinner was at taka food hall once again!

dear had an omu rice set from the ajisen omurice stall.

$7.50,consisting of an omu-rice with 2 chicken patties; topped with beef slices and beef broth. Additional sides included deep-fried chicken pieces, 2 scallop cakes and macaroni in tomato sauce. pretty value for money.

inner view of the omu omelette;

i decided to have the Bento Set B ($4.70) from ToriQ;

White fluffy pearl rice, topped with yakitori sauce and seaweed shreds, plus purple pickles at the side. Completed with 2 sticks of chicken, 1 stick of chicken meatballs and 1 stick of chicken with green peppers. Really savoury!

The queue here is like super consistent,forever building up but service was efficient. Instead of cooking their rice fresh on the spot, they use pre-packed instant rice which is heated and dispensed by a machine.haha kind of cool actually.

fourthly, ben is back from aust! after dinner, i went to meet mummy & aunt serena at outram before going to the airport together.

all eagerly waiting for his arrival...

safely reached singapore (:

and almost immediately, this caught my eye!

ahhh, the legendary krispy kreme doughnuts!!

The sixteen of us then headed to bedok for some sinnful supper. it was ian's recommendation, and i think it was called 'New Hawa Restaurant' just beside the bedok market.

my huge mug of teh-o-bing..

Chicken Satay. It was not bad.

Roti Prata

Ian's maggi-mee goreng

and most importantly,
ta-dah!

THE WONDERFUL ORIGINAL-GLAZED KK DOUGHNUTS~!!

Plus the further more sinnful ones...

chocolate-iced with sprinkles, chocolate-iced cream-filled, and the glazed cruller (a cake doughnut in a cruller shape)

IRRESISTABLY TEMPTING, ARENT THEY?

I gobbled up one damn quickly. haha. the glaze was melt-in-the-mouth yummy! But nothing beats having a hot piping one just at one of their outlets.

This is actually my fourth time enjoying this (: My first was at Seattle, second at Las Vegas, third at Boston. And all thanks to Ben & Zann, i get to savour it once again! LOL.

i even da-baoed some home larr =p

now allow me to digress a little bit. Singapore is really lacking of quality doughnuts! We used to have Dunkin' Doughnuts which i was hooked to, but all of a sudden it disappeared store by store. Surprisingly, it is still happily surviving in many malls in JB. And Krispy Kreme is like expanding to Hongkong but not Singapore! So, all we have left is a small and pathetic doughnut counter called "Pop-doh" at Taka Food Hall. Although there are many varieties available, it is still uncomparable to DD & KK. oh well, so back to the story..

i love krispy kreme!
& i must really thank everyone involved im my day today cos i was truly happy (:

Yesterday, 28th November Tuesday;

Lunched with shar at Carls' Jr. It was her wise choice. haha!

Pricing was rather steep for a fastfood fare, but can be forgivable since its a fastfood joint from the states. lol.

I had a Charbroiled BBQ Chicken Sandwich;

Charbroiled Chicken Breast, crisp lettuce, tomato and tangy BBQ sauce on a honey wheat bun
This cost a fricking $7.10, BUT i stopped all my complaints after my first bite. (plus i only paid 5+ and the rest were sponsored by shar. thanks gal!) okay i gotta admit the burger is definitely larger, and whoa the chicken patty is thick & super well-marinated while the inside was still tender & juicy.

okay BEST chicken burger lar, haha. macs & BK are simply no fight for it.

shar had a Western Bacon Cheeseburger but i have no pics of it =x

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This is our 3piece Chicken Breast Strips which tasted somewhat like KFC to me, but slightly more tastier.

okay fine, i will get more chicken burgers once i get my first pay, provided i get my job =p

and check out shar's new toy;

something cool to stick her phone on while she sleeps.lol.

whoo~ mahjong session tmr with the pretend taitais!

goodnights.
